DEXAMETHASONE SODIUM PHOSPHATE
Dexamethasone is a potent fluorinated glucocorticoid used to treat a wide range of inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, including severe allergies, asthma, COPD, skin disorders, and rheumatic diseases. It is also utilized in managing brain swelling, post-surgical eye pain, and as an adjunct in tuberculosis and preterm labor to improve neonatal outcomes. Administered via oral, injectable, topical, or ophthalmic routes, its therapeutic effects typically begin with 24 hour and last up to three days.
TROPICAMIDE
Tropicamide, marketed under brand names like Mydriacyl, is an antimuscarinic medication used as eye drops to dilate the pupil for detailed examination of the eye's interior, particularly the retina. Its effects begin within 40 minutes and can last up to 24 hours, making it a valuable tool in ophthalmic diagnostics. While generally well-tolerated, it may cause temporary blurry vision, light sensitivity, or increased eye pressure, and in rare cases may induce psychosis, especially in children.
PILOCARPINE
Pilocarpine is a naturally derived lactone alkaloid from the Pilacarpus plant, widely used to manage elavated eye pressure and treat dry mouth. As an eye drop, it offers rapid relief for conditions like angle-closure glaucoma, ocular hypertension, and post-dilation pupil constriction, with effects typically beginning within an hour and lasting up to a day. Additionally, oral pilocarpine is prescribed to alleviate dry mouth caused by Sjögren's syndrome or radiation therapy, although its long-term ocular use is limited due to potential side effects.
PREDNISOLONE SODIUM PHOSPHATE
Prednisolone is a potent corticosteroid used to manage a wide range of conditions, including allegies, inflammation, autoimmune disorders, certain cancers, and electrolyte imbalances. It is effective in treating ailments such as rheumatoid arthritis, asthama, multiple sclerosis, dermatitis, and eye inflammation, and is available in oral, injectable, topical, and ophthalmic forms. Structurally distinct from prednisone, prednisolone features a hydroxyl group at the 11th carbon, enhancing its therapeutic activity.
CETRIMIDE POWDER
Cetrimide, also known as alkyltrimethylammonium
bromide, is a powerful antiseptic comprising a blend
of three quaternary ammonium compounds—TTAB,
CTAB, and L TAB. Originally developed by ICl and
marketed as Cetavlon, it gained prominence for its
use as a 1—3% solution in cleaning roadside accident
wounds. ICl later introduced Savion, a well-known
antiseptic formulation combining cetrimide with
chlorhexidine for enhanced antimicrobial action.
Appearance: White or off-white powder.
